About Miranda
I support WOC, who seek to end generational cycles, tap into the natural gifts and skills within them to find healing and self-liberation
Miranda Deebrah, LMSW
You’re someone who holds many roles and identities in your life — mother, daughter, sister, friend, a caregiver in every sense of the word. You’re someone who’s giving every ounce of yourself to fill everyone else’s cups with an open heart even while it feels like your own cup goes unfilled sometimes. You’re navigating multiple cultures, traditions, conflicting customs, and intergenerational trauma, while committed to marching to the beat of your own drum and just trying to figure out how to balance it all. It gets exhausting, doesn’t it? I know, I’ve been there.
I walk through this world as an Indo-Guyanese immigrant woman who deeply understands what it is to face such challenges while existing within the margins of society. I know what it’s like to make the bold choice to take the road less traveled and leave behind patterns and cycles that no longer serve you because you dare to dream and hope for something better. I know how precious it can be to find healing and come home to yourself, and it is my wish for others to experience this too.
I also know that we can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m here to help! I feel called to do this work with purpose and passion to uplift my fellow women of color and offer a gentle and affirming therapeutic space where you can be your most free and authentic self. I’m here to be your cheerleader as you chart a path for yourself that feels most in alignment with who you know yourself to be.

The relationship we build with each other is sacred and serves as the foundation on which I support you on your journey to finding your way to joy and wellness.
My approach is intentional in decolonizing and re-indigenizing mental health care for WOC. In collaboration with you, I use a variety of anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, strength-based, and culturally sensitive methods and modalities which are tailored to suit each individual's unique needs. These include mindfulness-infused, somatic, psychodynamic, and Brainspotting practices that integrate the natural mind-body healing processes with your innate skills and inner wisdom. Together, we will not only work towards making positive and lasting changes in your life, but also be in pursuit of transformative healing and your ultimate self-liberation.
More About Me
Simple Pleasures: I enjoy performing on stage, being a cat mom, baking, classic sitcoms, murder mysteries, warm cups of tea, dancing, spending time in nature, Oracle cards, Lady Gaga’s entire discography, Central Park, trips home to Guyana, and quality time with my loved ones.
Favorite Quote: “I am a dreamer and I have a habit of making my dreams come true.” – Diane Chambers, Cheers
Not-so-fun fact: Coming from a tropical country, I am not built for the fall and winter seasons so my scarves and gloves come out as soon as there is the slightest chill in the air.
